Who has never heard of someone who has ever had a story of love abroad? It is more common than some people may imagine, and depending on where the lover of someone is from, it would be a nice thing to learn at least a bit of the idiom of that person, to surprise or please him/her somehow, as a mean to approach them and improve their relationship even more. That is why today we are going to teach you how to say “I love you” in Portuguese.
It is simple, the grammatical structure is even practically the same. So, in Portuguese, “I love you” would be: “Eu te amo”. Take a look at the example below:
E.g.: Maria, eu gostaria de te dizer que eu te amo. (Maria – or Mary -, I would like to tell you that I love you.)
If a person wishes to intensify the feeling he/she cultivates for his/her lover and he/she would like to say that he/she loves him/her “very much”, in Portuguese, it would be: “Eu te amo muito”. See the former example intensified below:
E.g.: Maria, eu gostaria de te dizer que eu te amo muito. (Maria – or Mary -, I would like to tell you that I love you very much.)
